Troops of Task Force 3 were able to reach to a significant stage in the Wanni liberation operation this afternoon (Nov 25) by reaching Olumadu area, in Mullaittivu district, where once considered as an LTTE stronghold.
Olumadu is located 4Km northeast of Mankulam along the Mankulam - Mullaittivu (A-34) main road.
After fierce fighting which lasted for a few days, troops of Task Force 3 were able to reach the Olumadu area and started forward dominations.
Search operations conducted so far uncovered a terror body and troops are engaged in further consolidating operations.

VVIP helicopter of Rajapaksa's fleet comes under attack in Ampaa'rai
The helicopter had an emergency landing. Nobody was hurt, but the chopper was damaged, according to available information.
